CANADIAN PROFESSIONAL DISC JOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Inspiring all DJs through Education, Networking and Support
The Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association Board of Directors wishes to express a deep and sincere thank you to an individual who is moving away from his formal administrative role with the CPDJA.
CPDJA Founder and Executive Director, Dennis Hampson, is stepping away from his administrative role with the CPDJA. He has also stepped down and retired from his position on the CPDJA Board of Directors. Dennis has been the cornerstone of the association since he founded it and has left his mark on so many people.
Dennis Hampson is retiring with an unrivalled legacy behind him that spans many, many decades. From the formation of the Canadian Disc Jockey Association (CDJA) in the 1970s, to helping organize the beginnings of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) to the creation of the Canadian Online Disc Jockey Association (CODJA) which ultimately become the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association (CPDJA), Dennis has been a key part of each of those moments in mobile DJ history.
The impact of Dennis’ work is felt by every DJ in Canada today, whether they are directly aware of it or not. From standing up to the music industry to secure DJ rights to use recorded music at live events, to inspiring new generations of leaders, Dennis has much to be proud of. We look forward to ensuring that his spirit lives on in his greatest accomplishment for DJs, the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association.

It is now the work of each and every person who cares about our industry to preserve the legacy that Dennis has built for us with the CPDJA, and to enhance it with new ideas to ensure its longevity. We will encourage DJs to stand up as he inspired us to do, in leading and building the future for all Canadian DJs from coast to coast.
On behalf of the entire DJ community, thank you Dennis Hampson for bringing us together and showing us that when we pool our efforts, we can accomplish more. You have shown us what it means to help one another and contribute to the greater good for our peers and industry and for that, we thank you. The work you have done will continue to be felt for years and years to come.
